For generations, Japanese style has been defined by a single garment, the kimono. Historically significant, aesthetically fascinating, and steeped in symbolism, the kimono captures the exquisite elegance of Japanese culture and design, proving that clothing can be much more than meets the eye.
Please join us on Saturday, February 3rd for a fun afternoon exploring the history and beauty of the Japanese kimono. You will have the opportunity to try on a garment or two and possibly take a photo wearing your favorite kimono! There will be a modest collection of kimono and accessories available for purchase/donation. All sales will be final.
The event is from 1:00-2:30pm at the Monterey JACL Hall, 424 Adams Street. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot to the JACL Hall and 2 hour limited parking on the street.
Free admission—donations will be gratefully accepted.
